Celebrating 45 years of Heather

Forty-five years ago, Heather Secondary School opened its doors for the first time. Few could have imagined then what it would become — a thriving institution that has shaped the minds, characters, and futures of thousands of young South Africans.

That journey reached a proud new chapter on 16 January 2026, when the school officially launched its 45th anniversary celebrations. Learners, educators, parents, governing body members, and departmental officials gathered together — all 1,177 current learners among them — to mark the occasion with the energy and spirit that has always defined Heather Secondary School.

Four and a half decades is no small feat. Over the years, this school has quietly produced leaders, professionals, artists, athletes, and innovators who carry its values into every corner of society.
