Honouring our leader: Mr. Reddy’s birthday celebration
6/28/2025

At Heather Secondary School, we don’t just celebrate academic success and learner milestones — we also take time to honour the individuals whose leadership and commitment shape the heart of our school. The staff gathered for a heartfelt celebration to mark the birthday of our respected Principal, Mr. S. Reddy.
The occasion was simple yet sincere, reflecting the humility and warmth that Mr. Reddy brings to his role. Mr. Reddy’s journey in education spans nearly four decades. Beginning his career in 1987 at Stanger ML Sultan and joining Heather Secondary in 1990, he has grown through the ranks—from educator to Deputy Principal in 2016, to Principal at Woodlands Secondary, and finally returning as Principal at Heather in July 2021. His expertise in the Social Sciences, especially Geography, and his approachable leadership style have made him a pillar of strength for both staff and learners.

More than an administrator, Mr. Reddy is a mentor, a father, and a proud grandfather. His ability to lead with empathy is deeply rooted in his life experiences, and his guidance is shaped by the influential mentorship of educational leaders like Mr. D.D. Moodley and Mr. S.V. Naidoo. He remains a strong advocate for high educational standards and community upliftment, living by the powerful words of Charlotte Maxeke: “If you can rise, bring someone with you.”
This birthday was a celebration of years and a tribute to a legacy in the making. We extend our warmest wishes to Mr. Reddy and thank him for his unwavering dedication, vision, and compassion. May the year ahead bring continued inspiration, health, and joy.
Happy Birthday, Mr. Reddy — from your Heather Family.
